F. Mendelssohn: Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor, with South Netherlands Philharmonic / Jan Willem de Vriend

Conductor Jan Willem de Vriend and actor Stijn Vervoort dive deep into the world of Franz Schubert for this, the last of the subscription series’ concerts. Accompanied by the instrumental parts from the incidental music for Rosamunde and framed by of Haydn and Mendelssohn, Schubert comes to life in a theatrical performance. Also, take note of the pianist who performs Mendelssohn’s First Piano Concerto: the Croat Dejan Lazic knows all about musical poetry, according to the New York Times.
