Sikorski Magazine cover feature

Dejan is on the cover of the newest Sikorski Magazine!

In the interview he talks about his recent projects, such as arranging Brahms Violin Concerto as a Piano Concerto, writing and performing his own “Piano Concerto in Istrian Style” (op. 18), his Variations on “Hava Nagila” for flute and piano (op. 10), as well as the upcoming world premiere of his symphonic poem “Mozart and Salieri” (op. 21) inspired by Alexander Pushkin, composing a new Violin Concerto, and much more…

On 14 December 2015 Dejan Lazic signed a composer’s contract at Hans Sikorski Music Publishers in Hamburg, Germany. He is the latest contemporary composer to join the ranks of esteemed names in the Sikorski catalogue, such as Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Khatchaturian and Shchedrin, amongst many others.

The partnership begins immediately with the publication of Brahms / arr. Lazic: Piano Concerto “No. 3” in D major (after Violin Concerto, op. 77), Lazic’s Piano Concerto In Istrian Style, op. 18, a collection of his original cadenzas, and various chamber works from Lazic’s back catalogue. Also in development is a symphonic tone poem, “Mozart and Salieri”, op. 21, which will have premiere performances in the USA and Europe next season, plus a Violin Concerto and a choral work.

“Sikorski’s music scores have been a constant companion in my career as a performer, and it is therefore all the more a great honour and an inspiration to be included in their family of composers. I look forward very much to a fruitful and productive collaboration.” – Dejan Lazić
